spark plug gap?

Specs in my sig, I am currently running accel header plugs gapped to 0.045

I was wondering if this is too much or too little or just right.

Rather than pulling the plugs and incresing or decreasing the gap to see what works best, i figured i would ask. Since it takes a good hour or 2 to get the plugs out and back in, and I dont have much spare time lately =\

we've run anywhere from .035 to .050 and have seen no gains. The bigger the gap the harder it is on ignition parts trying harder to arc the bigger gap, so currently I'm running .035

I run mine at .035", but .045" is fine. Higher compression motors (and ones with ignition systems like MSD) require a smaller gap, I think MSD reccomends .035" IIRC.

I wouldn't call it a rule of thumb but isn't the popular back yard tuners way is to run .010 more than stock spec's....
