Is the engine starting normally? Do you have any idea of the fuel pressure? Has the fuel and/or filter been changed recently? Does this only happen at startup or when the engine is fully warmed?

The engine starts fine, I have no idea on the fuel pressure. I just put fuel in it about 5 days ago and to my knowledge the fuel filter has never been changed......it only happens when the car is a little cold.

I've experienced that on TBI engines when the fuel pressure is low. The ECM goes a bit rich to compensate for the lack of fuel flow, and the injectors don't atomize fuel as much as they dribble or stream it out. That creates accumulation of liquid fuel in the intake, and some cylinders get an excessively rich mixture as a result.

I'm not saying that's necessarily what's happening to you, but it's a possibility. If you could test fuel pressure, you might be able to find this kind of problem or eliminate it as a possibility.
