Fuel pressure regulator questions
I have an 89 GTA with the L98. What kind of gains, if any, can I expect to see from an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Particularly the quarter mile is what I'm talking about. Will it kill my gas mileage? Im getting about 10 mpg right now driving easy. What are the reccomended pressures for best performance? I ran 14.85 stock

Wow 10 is not good at all. Do you know what your fuel pressure is right now? Is should be around 43-48 or so on a stock engine. This is with the fpr disconnected I believe. It might actually improve your mileage since increasing the pressure will give you slightly better fuel atomization coming out of the injector. Pressure doesn't determine the actual flow the computer does. Above all though, the afpr is mostly a tuning aid to help tune the car in light of other mods, and not really a hi powered mod in itself. TPIS claims that some cars came with stock pressure near the top end of the range eg 47 or 48 psi, and these were the "quick" factory cars, and some came with lower (43 or 44) pressure and they were slower. So theoretically if your car is low to begin with an afpr can put the car where it should be and result in a good improvement. Don't buy one, read Vader's article on how to make one. It's in the tech section I believe or I could email it to you so he doesn't have to post it yet again...lol. Later
