quick engine stand q

bought one today from advance auto. says 750 lb max weight. this should be fine to hold a SBC fully assembled right? just wanna be sure. have no idea how much one of these motors weighs. thanks.

Yep, a SBC in normal full dress weighs about 600-650. Lighter the more aluminum you use, heavier the more stuff you bolt on while it's still on the stand (starter, flywheel, brackets, whatever) believe it or not

just be sure its bolted on tight with grade 8 bolts.

using cheap bolts, they can bend... i havent seen them fail, but its no fun wiggling a bent bolt out of the block/engine stand... and if it did fall, it would SUCK.

and even grade 8 bolts will bend if they arnt atleast snug...
