cold start problem
from what i have read this seems to be a common "problem" on my 87bird (305 tbi)
if the car sits for a day or so longer, it takes a while to start. maybe like 10 seconds of turning over, then trying again with some gas, and then it'll start, but will stall out if i dont give it some gas and rev it up a few times. then it will idle high (like 1100) for a couple minutes.
i have heard that this is common from a cold start, but im in hawaii. and it doesnt really get cold here. how can i fix this?
thanks

i have heard people having similar problems because of a leaky fuel injector, is that a likely problem? im going to replace the sparkplugs soon anyway, but i doubt they are the problem.. anyone know what else could be the problem?

I've got the same problem with my car, but it is a TPI. I've replaced all the follwing:
fuel pump
fuel pmp relay
coil
rotor and dist. cap
pick-up coil
VATS system, all intake gaskets to check for air leaks.
The only thing I haven't gotten to is the fuel pressure regulator and yes, you guess it, the leaky injectors. I'm thinking that is probably part of it. I would consider taking a good look at the injectors since you only have 2 of them.

if it is the fuel injectors leaking, i guess the car might not be starting because theres too much fuel in the chambers or none at all (and none in the line either). would a fuel pressure guage help diagnose the problem? can anyone with a tbi share their experiences with what guage they used and the installation?
i have been looking at jegs 0-30 guages

should i get that?
thanks
