Fitting New Headers to A Transam Gta

Has anyone ever fitted a pair of shorty headers to a pontiac transam?
i have done it once to a previous car i owned but messed it up..
i am going to do the same to my current transam but i want to do it correctly this time..
Last time i had trouble getting the y-pipe to join with the headers without cutting the y-pipe up too much......Any ideas? I cant seem to get a header y-pipe kit here in the U.K??
So anyone done this mod with a tidy success???

The GTA is the same as any other of these cars, as far as things like headers are concerned.

How well they fit will depend on what kind of headers they are. I've had Edelbrocks and SLPs in my car, and both of those fit as well as if not better than the stock system. Some other brands.... might be a little different, I don't know. I've had lots of headers in other cars over the years, and some of them were terrible.

dynomax makes a 1 5/8" emissions legal header that is designed to bolt up to a stock y-pipe

I have the Hedman hedders with the matching y-pipe and they went right in.
