Recommended Engine reading
Can you guys suggest to me some good books, manuals on learning how an engine works and operates.. and how to do swaps and basic upkeep and so on.. thanks.. BTW You guys are just awesome !
since it seems you're starting with no base knowledge just about anything you read would be a step in the right direction. look at you local book store or in the jegs catalog. read the threads on here.

I'd suggest you head to the local fastfood AutoParts store, pick up a copy of the Chiltons or haynes '82-'92 Camaro/Firebird manual.
Most sections give good theory as well as what pertains to your car.
And as ede says. search this site...no cost for that:0

I love David Vizard's books. His series of "Small Blocks On A Budget" books are really good reading. However, they are definately not for the beginner who knows nothing of engines. He uses some terminlogy that may confuse beginners but for the guy who knows parts, what they do, how they work, etc its a good book with a lot of great tips and tricks ...To this day I'll pick up one of his books out of boredem, read it, and learn something new even though I've read it 100 times.
