Rice burners best nightmare(my engine prob)
Ok guys, i was cruzing by the Wendy's drivethu and a riceburner was ordering some food. I decided to let loose my exhause on my 91 z 305 TPI and rev'd the engine up to redline(5500). Anyways it got up there, then I let the RPM's down and the car died. No noises, thuds, pops or anything. The starter turns, and it sounds like the engine has compression. The ***** laughed at me as i pushed my car into a local parking spot. The question is, what could have gone wrong with the car. Its always ran fine, then it just suddenly died right then and there.

Sounds like an ignition problem. Check the module under the distributor cap. Have you checked all fuses, etc?

Happened to me it ended up being my pickup coil.

87 Z28 305 TPI, Auto, 2.73, Gutted air boxes, K & N fillters, SLP Airfoil, Dyno Max 3" cat back, Accel 8.8 mm spirals, Accel cap and rotor, Accel coil, rapid fires, and 160 Stat.
Best 15.414 @ 87.47.

Axle/Gears: 9-bolt, 3.27
I'd look into the pickup coil, or module. Possibly also the coil. All these things are known for failing with no notice as you described.
If you need help with testing any of this, grab a manual, or if you don't have access to one, post back, and maybe we can walk you through it.
Is there a tech article on this? If not, maybe I can help out and work on one in my spare time (would be my first one!)
