87 305 for 350 swap?
I have an 87 305 z28, and I work for an auto parts store.. Just yesterday I noticed an engine we had sitting in the back of the store, its a 350 rebuilt from a 91 chevy c1500 pickup. I was told this would go into my car pretty easily, but I have some questions:
Will it?
Is putting this engine in my car a smart idea? (truck engine in a car, I figure they are pretty similar)
What else would I need, minus what I have on my car now?
I was told it is mostly stock bored over, not sure how much. Its a 4 bolt main with hydrolic lifters, vortec heads. In the computer it said it was heavy-duty or something similar. Thanks.

Look through the motor swap section at some of the older posts. This topic has been covered alot with some good answers.Things you might need like new knock sensor, does that motor have a one or two piece rear main and things like that are all in there.

One issue you might have with the swap would be that I don't believe the vortec heads have provisions for egr.Might cause a problem for emissions inspection depending on where you live.
