gear drive timing gears???

gear drive timing gears???
could i use noisy gear drive timing gears in a 86 T/a with a 305 tpi?....will the knock sensor pick this up,,,and if so is there one that isnt sensitive enough to pick up the noise of the gears....thanx in advance
