I think it will set off your knock sensor, but you might dig up some data about a less sensitive knock MODULE.
I know a lot of Vette guys replace the LT1 knock modules to the LT4 knock modules when they add roller rockers. The knock sensors are the same in the LT1 & LT4, its the modules that interpit the data and sends a signal to the computer.

You can bolt up a noisey gear drive to your cam since it isn't a roller, but I wouldn't. (personal opinion)

You can defintely use a quiet one even with a roller cam. I have been using a quiet one for years and have not had a problem with the knock sensor picking it up.(contrary to some peoples beliefs...)

You can desenstitize you knock sensor to use a gear drive, but then that defeats part of the purpose on having the sensor. To me a quiet one is loud enough and the noisey is to obnoxious.... If you want people to think you have a charger on the car, the quiet one is perfect...

I agree with raven. I have a 'quiet' one too, and havent had any problems with it. And trust me, its plenty noisy.
