You'll need a 7mm socket and a 1/4 socket. There are three 7mm screws holding the passenger cover on. Remove them. Then there are two 7mm screws holding the computer bracket in place. Remove those, and carefully drop the computer bracket down, along with the computer itself. Remove the computer from the bracket. At this point I like to remove the 3 clips from the computer, but other people say to disconnect the battery. You can do either one. Then use the 1/4 socket to remove the two screws holding the cover on the computer. The PROM is inside. There are two clips holding the PROM in place. Push those apart, and the PROM will come out. Put the new PROM in. Make sure you get it lined up, as it only goes in one way. Put the cover back on, plug the wires back into the computer, and put it back into its holder. Then carefully push the bracket and computer back up into place. This might take a few tries, as its tricky to get it lined up. Then put the two 7mm screws back into the bracket, put the passenger cover back in place, and put its three 7mm screws back in, and you're done. Good luck!

I installed an aftermarket prom into the ECU, and I had to re-use my old prom (directions said to). I attached it to the new one via little metal pins (prongs).
I pushed the two proms together tight, but there seems to be a slight gap still. All the metal prongs enter and go into the old prom. But some not all the way Is it still ok? Is this a problem?
Also, one of the metal prongs on the new prom got bent...but i straightened it back out. It fit in fine. It will not damage the prom if it got bent would it?
Thanks
