Stall speed of stock converter in TPI

Does any one know the stock stall on a torque converter of my th700r4 in my 89 GTA.
or highest idle cam i could use without changing converter....?:lala:

you can find your stall speed by holding the brake and massing the gas. the stall is the rpm the car either has to move or die.

Like all automatics the actual stall speed will vary slightly depending on the torque of the engine. However, most TPI automatics will actually stall around 1600-1800 loaded up fully against the converter, rear wheels not allowed to turn at all. Usually the torque of the engine overcomes the rear brakes and starts to spin the rear tires before you reach actual maximum stall speed.
