Alternator Question

I am replacing the alternator in my 85 Trans Am, and stupid me forgot one of the connections... I know the thick red wire goes to the terminal on the back of the alternator, but there is also a two pronged plug with one red wire that is about 4 inches long and one black wire that goes back toward the firewall... does that short red wire coming out of the plug also go onto the terminal? I know, stupid question, but it is 4 in the morning and I have been up all night putting my intake back on.... thanks for any help.

From the pics I was looking at (to cold to go out to the garage), Is only ONE heavy red wire goes to the terminal, and it look like a seperate red & black wire goes into the plug.

The little plug that goes into the side of the alternator, it has those two wires coming out of it, where does that red wire go though?

It does in fact to the same terminal with the big wire.

Hmmm, I thought the heavy red one went on down to the starter to catch up with the battery.

Oh well, I'll get educated when I put in my battery kill switch.

Thanks guys, got the thing on and put both red wires on the terminal... works like a charm, at least until it fries probably 2 years from now.
