I want to build up a 383 next winter and was thinking of going with JE pistons, Oliver Rods and a Lunati crank. Anybody know of anything better?

I don't think that manufacturer matters so much as material. Just make sure that you get a 4340 forged steel crank (if you don't mind throwing the cash around) and some of the H-beam 4340 forged steel rods. As far as I know forged aluminum pistons are all about the same (as far a strength is concerned). All this heavy duty forged shiznit will cost you a pretty penny, but it won't break. You can compromise and get the weaker stuff to save some money, it all depends on what you've got in mind for power output and RPM.

Those are all good parts as far as that goes. They might be overkill, or they might be inadequate for your application.
What are we building here? What sort of budget do you have? What induction, or HP, or ET are you looking for and/or expecting? Be honest and realistic, don't blue-sky it; but at the same time, don't cheap out.
