Removing AIR/SMOG

If i remove the AIR/SMOG crap on my car will it effect the emissions or the computer? Im trying to do something thats really really inexpensive that will pick up a little power. Any info reguarding this would be appreciated.

--I already have a custom computer chip that was done by a performance shop if that matters any.

it will save you some weight, and give you more space. i dont see it adding 10 plus hp or anything.

i actually dont have any cats, non smog pump or any air stuff and headers and i almost passed emissions i was very close. i think if i just add cats again i should pass the test.

its well worth it just for the added space.

You wont even notice any power gain if you do. I've removed a few on my cars, and the only reason i did so was to just free up some space in the engine compartment. At max i'd guess it would only free up like 1/2 to 1 hp at wot.

If you remove your smog pump, you might as well remove the cat too. The two work together, it dosnt make much sense to remove one and keep the other. Removing the cat will probably give you a noticable power gain.

Of course this absolutly will have a negative impact on your emmissions.

Right now i have a high flow cat so removing it would be pointless? I passed emissions with flying colors with a cloged cat. and a very untuned car with bad muffler. Since being tuned i dont think it would have a problem even if i removed all this but im not sure.

Also, what is involved in removing all of this?

Thanks
