Woowoo!

This is AWESOME!!! I just got of the phone with a friend of mine who needs me to do some work on his sisters computer. In return for the work he's giving me a 96 Vortec 350 out of a Tahoe. The motor itself has 130k on it but the heads are fresh as a daisy with only 5k on them!

What kinda power #'s did the 96 Vortecs put out? Will my TBI manifold bolt up to these heads?

THANKS in advance!

They were "rated" at around 260 HP or thereabouts IIRC, FWIW. As far as what it would actually do through 305 TBI exhaust manifolds and the tiny system that they would force you to have..... this is only a guess, but I'd guess that exhaust would cost you around 25 HP off of its "rating".

No your manifold will not bolt up to it. But you can easily get a 4-barrel carb one that will, and use an adapter.

Well, I had planned to buy a single plane intake for it and an adapter (1/2"). And I was gonna go with Hedman Tork-Step headers also.

Also, Ultimate TBI mods will be done along with custom chip.

Oh, whats she specs on the stock cam in that thing like? I've got a LT1 cam just sitting that I could throw in if it'll make a difference.

Once again, Thanks in advance!

ttt

Does anyone know the cam specs? I kinda need to know soon so I can put the LT1 cam in now so I don't have to do it once it's installed.

I dont know the exact specs off the top of my head but the LT1 cam has a more aggressive profile then the stock L31 cam.
