Engine Problems!!! Please Help!!!

I was out doing a few things this morning and at my last stop when I was leaving to come, when i started up my car it spuddered and would die if I tried to give it gas in gear. I could rev it up in park and neutral but if I tried to move it would die unless i had it in neutral and reved it up then drop it into drive. Then it would spudder a bit but i could get it going. IF i had to stop then go again it would die unless I did this at everystop. It was running great all morning until this last stop. I decided to put some fuel in it since I had only a quarter of a tank and it is still doing it. I took it out on the highway, quickest way to get home around all the stoplights, and if I get it up to about 60 it feels like it wants to cut out. The fuel pump is just over a year old and it turns on just fine. Not really sure what is going on with my car. I think I might have to take it to a shop and have them look at it. I am going to check the oil and antifreeze after it cools to see if maybe it has a blown head gasket. IF anyone else has any ideas about what might be wrong please let me know.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue to me..... remember, just the fact that something was replaced recently, is no guarantee that it's working right.

Check your fuel pressure, replace the fuel filter, prepare yourself mentally for another trip into the gas tank.

Would a bad fuel filter cause this much of a problem. I tried starting it up and it is really strugling for fuel. I hope that it is only a fuel filter problem.

i would also say fuel filter. they are really cheap and easy to do. and if it doesent fix it, it will not hurt anything.

I just pulled the radiator cap off and noticed a lot of foam inside there. It seems to have enough fluid in there but what would be causing all of the bubbles in the coolant system. Can anyone help with this.

The foam and bubbles in the coolant usually means a blown head gasket (cylinder compression pushing air/fuel/exhaust directly into the coolant). Sorry. Check the plugs along with a compression and leakdown test will help tell which head it's on. If you go to replace it, try to get a straight edge on the head and block to check for any warpage, which would likely lead to another blown gasket.

Good Luck!

I hope that there is another reason for the bubbles in the coolant. But as for the other problem with the car, it isnt the fuel filter at all. It has about 40 lbs of pressure like it is suppose to have. I had to take it to a shop because I couldnt figure it out. They said it might be a sensor gone bad like the MAF sensor. I will have them do a compression check on it as well to see if anything is leaking on the heads as well.
