breather question on LG4
My breather on my left valve cover has been sitting crooked for a while now but I never thought anything of it. So I removed it today, and found that the rubber grommet that holds it in place had completely disintegrated into the opening. There were little chunks of it all over inside the valve cover. I stuck my finger in and pulled out as much as I could. My question is- is this bad? It's probably been like that for a couple months now. Are little rubber grommet peices floating around in my engine? I sure hope not....
thanks guys

its possible.. i wouldnt worry too much it would probably simply break down even more inside... it could clog oil passages and ****.. might wanna pull that valve cover off clean out what u can from inside the head and give it an oil change 2 be safe.. i wouldnt worry too much though

ok cool, that gives me another reason to put on my chrome valve covers that have been sitting in the garage for 3 months now.... I'll clean out what I can and then change the oil. thanks for the quick response!

What the pickup screen doesn't block, the oil filter will catch.
Still not a bad idea to clean out any pices you can get to.

If they're stock valve covers, there's a baffle in there that will keep them from getting any farther.
Don't put non-stock valve covers on there if you can help it.
You can get new grommets almost anywhere; Auto Zone, Advance, Pep Boys, etc. in the Help! section, or most any other parts store in their air filter product line.
