Balancing Act

I have an 88 chevy 350 block, A ZERO BALANCE ATI balancer. Now my question is….. what flexplate would I want to buy… I called summit or jegs and told them I have a late model 350 and I need it to be balanced, so what flexplate would I need. He gave me a part number and then I asked him, “are you sure this is right if my balacer is zero balaced?” And he hung up on me… so what do you guys think? Is this an internally balanced motor? And besides having weights on them, is there another difference between and internal or external flexplate (one piece/ two piece rearmain? Or bolt patterns)?????????

Thanks for the help

your block should have the one piece oil seal. if it does you need the flex plate to go with it (the bolt pattern is differant, because of the pin). the flex plate will have a weight on it because of the missing fly wheel flange on the one piece seal cranks. it's still an internally balanced engine, it's just differant. i'd guess your balancer is for an internal balance engine and would work on any SBC, but i'm not sure of that.

ede is right about the balancer, they are all the same. I checked this with my friend at the dealer when I picked up a new one for my 86TA, only the flywheel is different.
