Trade my 89 Gta in for a 99?
Well I have the option of trading my 89 l98 in for a 99 convertable or a 99 t tops both 5.7's I'd see better mileage increased driveability and reliability aswell as the fact that i'd be driving a 99 or perhaps even a 00. Let's face it the third gen's value is decreasing. I'd be able to purchase a gta a couple of years from now for 1 or 2 g's cheaper right?
Im stuck
Someone lend me a hand... My goal is to own all four gens which way will i save the most money (in all practicality buying 4 firebirds isnt really saving any money
) but which would be most cost effiecient. Thanks

Ps the 99-00 will still be under warranty too... And will cost less to go "faster" right?

Yes you MIGHT be able to buy a 3rd gen for a $1,000 less in the next year. I wonder how much cheaper you'd be able to buy the 99 for in a year? A hell of lot less due to high depreciation.
No question, there are a LOT of advantages to owning a new car (reliability, quicker bone stock, warranty, etc); but they are also expensive and cost a lot of money.
Spend that same money on your 89 GTA, and you'd most likely be faster. But, it wouldn't necessarily be more reliable nor worth as much. Face it, an 89 is 11 years old and they start to have "old car problems"...which means virtually ANYTHING can break.
Only YOU can make this decision for YOU. The fact that I still have my 91 GTA means I would rather have my GTA than a new car. But that's me, and I'm not you.
