Vacuum advance Q
How much vacuum advance does a distributor normally make?
I've got an Accel Probillet distributor, and it says it has 10* @ 10". Does that mean at 20" I have 20*? Is there normally more vacuum advance then mechanical advance?

It depends. I have an adjustable vac advance from petronix and it goes up to 23* advance at 15 inches of hg I believe. I am currently running 20* vac advan.. Ive seen stock ones have 10, 15, 20. The msd probillet has 15 @15 in hg. Yours prolly means that it takes AT LEAST 10 inches hg to get the full 10* of advance from your distributor. Yours might also be adjustable with a little allen wrench. Hope this helps

Yea it's adjustable, I am having problems with pinging at part throttle. I'm running around 14-16* initial, so I'm guessing since I'm running 2-4* more initial then most, I need to back my vacuum advance down some.
Nobody seems to know what good vacuum advance total should be....
