You have 2 options, one is to hold the pulley with your hand and loosen the bolts. (Thats what I did once) and two, is to put the belt back on and then loosen the bolts. Use some liquid wrench if they are stubborn bolts.

Easy. Get yourself a screwdriver and insert it between the bolts as such

The Os are the bolts, the \ is the screwdriver shaft. With the screwdrivers like that, when you loosen the top right bolt, the rotational forces will be applied to the shaft as it is wedged between the bolts. As in, the top left bolt will be pushing left on the shaft, and the bottom left bolt will be pushing right on the shaft. Hold the screwdriver and nothing moves.

it sounds a lot weirder then it is. If i showed you how to do it you'd say 'damn, thanks, that's easy'

When they are loose, don't take 'em off. Just leave 'em on so you can still stick the screwdriver between 'em until they are all loose.

I did "sort of" what Bort62 did... I put a c-clamp on the water pump pulley so the clamp would jam against the engine. Same idea, different tool.

Get a pair of Channellock pliers big enough to grip the outer edge of the pulley ( dont grip it where the belt rides ) this will hold it while you loosen the bolts.

Leave the accessory belt on. Use a wrench and smack it sharply with your hand or a hammer. The quick, sharp blows will usually loosen them everytime, especially considering they're just puny little 10mm bolts. Vice grips are usually my last resort since they love to chew up bolt heads.
