Interesting problem

I have an 89 iroc 350 tpi that hasn't seen the road in a couple years, im currently making her road worthy and hopefull she will see the road this summer. Anyways, the issue is that she starts up fine and she will run with a fairly good idle (im sure that some sensors, O2 etc. need to be replaced) but overall she runs good. the problem is that after i let her run for a while and then shut her off and then try to start her again, it turns over but will not fire... then if i try to start her up the next day she will start right up again. Im just wondering if anyone had any ideas, Im assuming probobly something fairly simple since she runs fine when she does start, but i cant exactly take her out for a drive if she will only start up once a day, lol. thanks for any input. josh

two things come to mind

heat soak on the starter solenoid or the more likely a heated ignition module failing... the ign. module tells the coil to ground and give spark... you can have them tested at your local autozone but heat it up with ah air dryer or have them test it numerous times (give it a chance to heat up cause they are known to work great when cold but fail when warm)

just a thought...if it cranks the second time around but won't start, it's possible your injectors are leaking by and flooding the motor out. After sitting for a long period of time, the flood condition will clear. Just for kicks, Smell your oil to see if your injectors are dumping badly....
