CTS keeps failing over and over and over...................
I have replaced my coolant emp sensor 3 times in the past 12 months. About every 12 weeks I get a code 15. I don't know what is going on. I soldered the connections on the new harness and applied dielectric grease to the sensor plug. This is really starting to get on my nerves. Does the cts wire directly to the ECM harness. Should I replace the entire length of the wire? Could the failures be caused by old, dirty coolant? Thanks.

BSA,
Either you are getting a run of bad or cheaply made sensors (try a genuine AC) or the wiring to the ECM is faulty.
The CTS is wired directly to the ECM, but there is more than one temperature sensor on your engine. One reports to the ECM directly. One is used for the dash gauge (or light). There is another for the secondary cooling fan if you have a dual fan setup. Another is used for the cold start injector control on TPI engines through 1988. Which one are you replacing?

Vader,
Thanks for the reply. I am replacing the one that goes to the ECM directly(the one on the front of the intake manifold). How should I check for faulty wiring. I'm not sure what pin the CTS wires to. I'm running through and integrator due to the switch from MAF to SD.
