how do I plug the holes after I take smog pump off?

I just took off the smog pump but I can't figure out how to plug the holes. Like the one comming off the cat. Should I screw a bolt in it? would that work? Then the other two are the holes for that pipe that is connected to the exhaust manifold. I tried to take it off but those little bolts are rusted and they will twist off if I try to take them off. I tried to JB weld a bolt in but it came out but I might not have let it dry long enough because it's really cold here in michigan. So what do you think that i should do? I tried to call tuffy but they blew me off once they heard what I wanted them to do. I ws thinking that they could weld it closed. What should I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated because I don't like driving to college smelling exhaust the whole way.

If you mean the small tube that is 5/8" or
so in diameter on the catalytic converter,
I would drive in a couple of cup plugs and tighten the original "U" clamp around them.
Cup plugs look like freeze plugs only smaller. They can be found at most auto
supply stores.

i've seen brass plugs in manifolds where the air tubes were, as well as welded shut too. if you can't get the fittings out i'd look into welding them shut. it's not rocket science, what ever works will do, just are a little nicer looking than others. good luck

The only problem you'll have is the check valves clicking. That is if you still have the pipes on the exhaust. What I did was run a hose from one side to the other. as for the cat, you can just put a plug on it. Any muffler shop should have one. It's like a little cup that goes over the pipe.

what are the check valves? I think I took those off. I just need to plug the pipe that has those little pipes going to it that run right off the exhaust manifold.

I am confused, probibly becuase i am running on 2 hours of sleep what what holes are you trying to plug? were you able to pull the air tubs our of the manifold? if so, plug those with 9/16 brass expansion plugs and tighten them once or twice after driving for a while to really set them in. As far as that last air tube comming of the cats i have yet to physically plug that up and I have not had any problems. I really would not recomend welding unless you are 100% that you never want to try to get it to pass emmisions. Ok well either way hope it works out, i gotta run.

You guys are making it way harder than it is.

I did the exact Same thing To Mine when I removed the Smog Pump.
Remove the Check Valvs, and Thread On a half Inch galvanized Pipe cap. Fits perfectly, Works on the 2 Pipes connected to the manifolds, and the One Running to the CaT.

If you are able to Pull the Pipes out of the manifolds, Use some 1/4inch Brass or galvanized Pipe Plugs, they thread Right in.

Its not All that Difficult, Just visit the hardware store ( I work In one.. )

Let me see If I have a Pic...

Nope No luck, Oh well your Gonna have to Rough it.
