Ignition cylinder problems

Been having some problems with my ignition cylinder for a while. It has jammed up on me a couple times but I freed it up with some persuasion. About a month ago I was at the Ford dealership(go figure) picking up a part for my sister's 'yota and started the car only to hear the starter still going. Panicked, turned the car off and the starter still ran. Tried like hell to get the battery cable undone so my starter didn't burn up. Finally after a couple of minutes it finally stopped. Got in to start car and nothing. Called somebody, waited a while and she started right up. Must've drained the battery. Recently the cylinder itself has started acting up. Works fine until I try to turn it to the start position. Seems like something is binding up. I can force it to the start position and it will start as usual, but I am getting tired of forcing it. It doesn't do it all of the time though is what gets me.

Replace the cylinder. Mine started sticking. Since I didn't want to get stuck somewhere I replaced it and all's fine.
