everytime i though i did something smart!

2day i went to a closeing sale at a auto performance store and found some 2" auto gauge indiglo gauges on sale so me thinking this is to good to pass up and i was gunna get some in a couple months anyway so i got a oil pressure one and water temp i asked the dude if they will work on older sbc and he says ya.. so anyway i notice something not right and dont no if it a problem the oil pressure gauge starts at 0 and continues on in 20s till 100..but the gauge in my car says 0 to 400. did the guy sell me the wrong thing here? or is it just measured diffrently or something.. will it work in my 350 carbed SBC?

Is the one you bought in psi? Your stock gauge is in kpa.
An oil pressure gauge is an oil pressure gauge.

It will work just fine... The reason your stock gauge is in kpa is probably because your car is from canada... kpa is just a unit of measurement, just like miles per hour compared to kilometers per hour or meters per second or ... You see my point... It will connect up to your engine and function correctly, but you might not be familiar at first with the PSI equivalents to your kpa measurements... It will just take some getting used to...

i heard taht if u tap the temp.. gauge in the intake the readings will be a lil off... but i heard otherwise too, I tapped mine in the extra plug i had on the side of the head...

same theres an part u can get to rig into your stock oil sending unit that lets u hook n use both...
