Tell these people we don't want the Fbody to die
I work at Auto Zone, and Popular Mechanics just launched a new magazine called Car Care. They sent every employee a copy before you can buy them in stores. They had an article about a Civic SI they did a flame paint job and thought it was the coolest thing. $10,000 later it ran a "very impressive" 14.7 @91mph.
Here are some things they said word for word in the article, starting with a picture of the Civic at a classic '50s gas station.
"Well, after 15 years, the successor to the 5.0 Mustang has surfaced. And believe it or not, it's the Honda Civic. That's right, the front-wheel drive, 4 cylinder powered Honda Civic has emerged as the car for an entire generation of hot rodders."
"Yes, Honda Civics that not only blow the doors off many of those musclecars we cherish from the 1960s, but many that have no problem hanging with a brand new V8 powered 320 horsepower Camaro SS or Cobra Mustang" (I was laughing so hard by this point)
"It's being said that the Civic is the '32 Ford of this generation, so that's what we built: a modern interpretation of a '32 Ford street rod."
This is complete bull****, and it's coming from the mouths of Popular Mechanics. To take their survey and tell them how bad this magazine sucks, go to http://www.autozone.com/carcare/ and click on "Take Survey"
