Porting Trickflows Question

I am in the process of porting a set of Trickflow Twisted Wedge heads and ran into something that really has me stumped. I did quite a bit of research on porting the L98 heads before I did a set last year, but I never came across anything like this. These heads have what look like a vortex or swirl generator cast in the intake bowls. What do I do with these as I port the intake bowls? They actually appear to be contradictory to what I am trying to accomplish (remove restrictions and smooth everything out). Any ideas?
Oh yea, these are TW G1 heads.
Is this what the old GM TBI heads looked like? Seems like I read something about a casting restriction that was supposed to create swirl, but just really sucked instead.

No leave them in there. Not the same at all as TBI swirl port heads.

The fin in the T-Wedge heads reduces turbulance behind the valve guide boss and directs flow.

the fin behind the guide boss is (to a lesser extent) used in these Protopline Vortec 906 heads.

Might give you some ideas.

Yea, that's what I'm used to seeing (or working toward).... on those Pro Toplines. But these have right angles which I thought were a bad thing in an intake port/bowl. You can see a little better in this pic. Anyone know if this is what the redesigned (Gen 2) Twisted Wedge heads look like?

If they are anything like the "bumps" in the intake ports of the LSx heads, then leave them in there. I have heard of great performance reduction by removing them. I think they help produce swirl.
