well here is the scoop...I installed a crane cam 2040, ported the intake, runners, and plenum, put headman headers on and new wires on my 85 305 TPI. I now have it all back together and its basically running like crap! I set the timing at 8* but it doesnt seem to matter where i set it it still runs bad (hesitates, stumbles, and when i rev it up and the rpms go back down, it wants to die but then catches back up). I checked all the wires to make sure they are right, checked and it is running in closed loop after it warms up, but im only getting about 1 flash every 2 sec., Seems to be good vaccum, plugs are fine. Anybody have a clue as to what this could be? The car still runs and i can easily turn the tires over but its just running real rough. The cat isnt on for now and i am running just out the y-pipe so it sounds even worse. Btw the wire to the EGR valve broke off, but im not sure if that would have any effect on the performance. Come on guys, i know somebody knows something about thirdgens on this board BTW ive spent alot of time searching but can not find the answer to my problem
