HELP - Serious Problems!!!!!

I took the IROC out last night and as most of you know I've had a loud knock going on somewhere since I replaced the starter. Well, somehting happened last night and I';m not sure it was good. I different noise has taken the place of the loud knock and I think it's coming from the Valve cover...I think. Noise travels well though metal so who knows. It sounds like someone has a coffee can with a spoon in it and they are shaking it. The knock is no longer consistant with sccelration like before, it is constant snd doesn;t sound good. I thought maybe a rocker came off or something like that, but the car is not missing and I can't here any difference in output when I listen at the tailpipe.

Another thing, the car has very little power. The engine still revs, but the power is just not making it to the back wheels like it did. Ic an;t even get the tires to break loose. Any chance my flywheel is screwed up?

The first thing I would do is pull the valve cover that seems to be making the noise. If that checks out: What were you doing when this happened? Just normal driving, or were you having a little fun? Does the engine run any differently at all? A little more rough or slightly uneven? Any more info about how it runs differently would help. Can't say much about the sound unless I can hear it for myself.

Well, honestly, I haven;t been drigin the car since it started knocking, but once we determind "or thought we did" that it wasn; internal engine knock, I decided to have some fun since I haven;t had in that car for avery long time. The guy with me races GTP's and has never felt a powerful rwd. SO, I set out to break the rearend loose and get some good tire spinnage. Well, as you read earlier, I couldn;t get it to happen. So, for one last try, I did a break stand, the tires obviously broke loose and that is when I got the spoon in the coffee can noise.

Torque converter huh? Doh!!!! That won't be good.
