Help! Car won't start

I just put a steering column out of an 87 camaro in my car. I plugged in everything except the cuise control and the passkey. Everything comes on with the ignition, lights work, etc. But nothing happens when I try to crank it. I tried jumping the passkey wires but still nothing. Please help! Thanks

Ryan,

Jumping the PassKey wiring won't enable the starter. The ECM or VATS module expects to see a resistance across the wires, not ZERO resistance. If you have your original key and an ohmmeter, check the resistance of the key insert, go to your local electronics supply store, get a resistor, and "jump" the VATS wiring with that. There are about fifteen possible resistances on most ThirdGens:

If you need the ranges, send email throught the board links, please.

Thanks Vader, I measured the resistance and I hope to go pick one up tomorrow. You know, I think the best part about having a thirdgen is thirdgen.org. You guys have saved me many times already. Thanks
