MAP sensor question?????

I would really like to know the difference between 1,2, and 3 bar MAP sensors. I have a 91Z (L98). I cracked the housing on my MAP when I replaced the runners and I have to get a new one. Which do I have?? Which should I get???

thanks.....

You have a 1 bar MAP and that is what you will get when you ask for a MAP for your car at the parts counter. This is the one you want.

2 & 3 Bar MAP's are for turbocharged and supercharged engines. Their voltage output is scaled differently and according to their rating. They will not just plug in and work with the stock ECM code.

So is there any difference in the Accel MAP sensor that Summit sells, or are you just paying for the name??

I don't know for sure. My bet is you are just paying for the name. I also bet most MAPs and other sensors are made by a few companys and remarketed by many....

Crushin, you didn't like my answer on the TPI Board and had to confirm it here too?

Since Brent said basically the same thing I said at the TPI Board, do you believe us now?
