Need to know how to "Install" Starterwires

I am going to buy a wiring harness and wondered how hard it is going to be to get the stater wires in. My old wires were cut by an a****** lazy mechanic and now I need to get my car running again. So is there a plugin around the firewall or somewhere or am I going to look at sodering the wires?

I need to know today (Saturday 2/3/01) because I am working on the car today so please help me out!!!

No plug. You'll need to solder them. But it's not as hard as it may seem: they go across the back of the engine behind the distributor, so you can disconnect them from the starter, pull them up to the top, work on them, then put them back. Much easier.

If you stil have all the pieces, I'd suggest spicing them back together and soldering them, rather than trying to replace them. Unless of course they are already butchered some other way too. The 2 big red ones carry battery ower to basically the entire car, so if they aren't right, you car will have electrical malfunctions from hell forever.

This is exactly what I'm experiencing, so hopefully I can get it sorted out soon...I have a feeling it's those 2 wires but there's a metal sheath covering them and it looks like I'm going to have to hacksaw it off to see what the problem is because it won't budge

IIRC that metal 'sheath' is held on by one of the bellhousing bolts.

Don't cut your car up any more!!! The wires will pull up through that sheath. To add to madmax's info, it may also be attached under one of the starter solenoid screws, if it's still the OE setup; sounds like whoever was there before you wasn't too orderly in putting things back the way they came yhough, so who knows if it's still in its place. Regardless, don't destroy it, it's there for a purpose, namely to keep the wires off the exhaust. It isn't necessary to sodomize the car any further.
