my enigne bay is rattling, so i chekced it out. I think its the water pump. I pulled on the pulley and it wiggles back and forth a tad. What do I do? Just tighten up the bolts or you think the water pump is bad.
You probably need a new water pump. It's highly unlikely that the pulley bolts are loose. What has happened is the front bearing in the pump is probably going out. The seal is usually pretty quick to follow, and it will start to leak. 99% of all water pumps usually fail in this manner from what I've seen.

Try spraying some carb cleaner on the belt(s) while the engine is running before you take it all apart, I've seen bad belts make some wierd noises.
Take the belt/belts off and spin the pulleys of all acc. before replacing the pump, just to make sure its not anything else.
