new and just need some info

Have a quick ? Im looking into getting a 3rd gen and was wanting to know which one is going to be the best. I know I want one with the 350 and t-tops other than that i need some info. Fastest, most reliable, most parts for, stuff like that.

Thanks for any help!

I personnaly think the best thirdgen are the Pontiac Trans Am GTA... I had a 88 with T-Top, 305 TPI, all options, digital dash, 3.27 rear etc... What a nice car it was, so the 350 GTA are probably a lot better. GTA are more luxurious than most thirdgen that's why I like them better than a Camaro with the same motor...

Oh yea, and GTA are more rare than Camaro, you see Camaro everywhere. I like Camaro too but it's my opinion...

when it comes to what look thirdgen you want(GFX,spoiler, noes, interior, lights, camaro, trans am,iroc, firebird,GTA and so on) thats something u should decide, only u know what u like best, thats like letting your mom buy/pic your clothing. Check out www.cardomain.com or the readers rides section in this site and see the diffrent body styles they have for thidgens.
for the engine though, i would suggest that u get one that has a L98 or better (owner before done swap/mods......)
oh and just so u know almost everything is interchangeable.
Good luck!!!!

If you want an L98 (TPI 350), skip the T-Tops. Third Gen F-Bodies suffer from some hellacious twisting, thanks to a lot of torque and a rather weak chassis (compared to LT1 and LS1 Fourth Gens). Get a hard top, subframes, and swap in whatever engine you want. I'll be doing the LS1/6-speed thang over the next couple months.
