Dying at Stop lights

hey guys,

well i've recently bought a pretty bitchen 88 TA, has the 305 w/the T5, B&M short shift kit, american thunder exhaust, and a few other things. anyway having a strange problem, car idles fine, but when i come to a stop at lights, the engine stalls. it doesn't do it all the time, but often enough to be annoying. and also, when i'm starting out in first, just after i've let the clutch out, if i'm around 2000 rmp, it kinda lurches and struggles for power(almost like bunny hopping when you start out badly). as well the engine will hesitate a bit when you rev it at idle.

my guess is probably a bad fuel filter. had a 36 code, but removed the ECU fuse, and engine light hasn't come back since. cap on the distrubuter looks brand new, and plug wires are new. haven't checked the plugs yet? could it possibly be something like the timing as well?

any help would be great.

oh one more thing, is it normal for the clutch to engage really low(as in close to the floor) in these cars?

thanks

Ok, no offense, but since I've been trying to help on two other posts that happen to be on this very damn page can you guys PLEASE start using that damn search button!

As for your question...

With that code I will assume a TPI set up, yes? You're getting a code 36 and stalling out. Replace your MAF relay. The computer does on occasion tell you the correct thing to do. Not too damn often, but once in a while it will come out and bonk you on the head with the direct problem. While you're at it swap out your power relay as well.
