Retrofit a new MAF sensor

Has anyone ever tried to retrofit a newer style (Lt1 Ls1) Mass air sensor to a tpi engine. I would assume that it is possible, anything is possible. It would definately be worth it, a more reliable, better flowing MAF for the same money (if not cheaper).

IIRC, our ECM's cannot process the signal from the LT1 MAF Sensors. I have seen a few people on here that have talked about somehow altering the signal so that it can be processesed, but I don't think anyone has actually done it yet.
