I've got a tad of a problem here. I've got an '89 Firebird 5.0(305), and it's blowing smoke straight out the exhaust like nobody's business. Thought it might be the intake gaskets, head gaskets, and possibly a warped head or two, or even valve seals. But, I bought new heads, cleaned everything up nice 'n neat, new gasket set, etc. PCV checks out a-ok. Before I went through this ordeal over the past 2 days, my car blew black smoke. This time around, AFTER the new gaskets, heads, PCV, etc, it's blowing white smoke. I'm pretty much ready to shoot myself in the head, so any thoughts I'd appreciate it.

You've got a water leak. White smoke means water.

White = Coolant/Water
Black = Fuel (too rich)
Blue = Oil
If you were blowing black smoke before, and now it's white, you might have fixed one thing and broken something else. Assuming your head gaskets are on correctly then I agree that there is likely a crack or coolant breach somewhere. When you changed the heads did you notice any one cylinder looking different from the others? Like it had been washed?

I heard somewhere that you can modify these cars?!?!
