I'm just about to begin my 350 to 383 buildup and I have a few questions about possible camshaft selections. I already have Canfield 197 cc Aluminum heads, TPIS Mini Ram, 1.75 Hookers, 3000 Vig. Converter, 3.73's, and DFI, therefore I am trying to match a cam to these components.

I could use my current cam, a TPIS ZZ-409, but I feel it may be a bit small. Here's the specs: Single pattern .525 lift, 225 dur @ .050, 288 adv. dur., 112 lobe separation.

Crane HR-296-2S-12 IG
Dual pattern .539/.558 234/242 296/304 not sure about the L/S, but I'm thinking it's 112.

Comp XR294HR
Dual pattern .540/.562 242/248 294/300 110 L/S

The lift on the Crane and Comp is basically the same, and the adv. duration is a bit higher on the Crane. The main difference is the duration @ .050, the Comp has 8* more on the intake, and 6* more on the exhaust.

So which of these cam's is more aggressive? I'm assuming the Comp Cam right?

If anyone could plug these cams into a desktop dyno with my combo, I'd be interested in the results.

The car is used as a weekend warrior and I'm looking to get at least 525 HP at the crank with around 11-1 CR.

the XR is a nice choice... I wouldnt rely on DD2000 for cam choice.

Why not Call Comp. Give em your info etc and see what they say.

The COMP XR cam has more aggressive ramp rates which is obvious by how much more duration it has at .050. It has the newer technology lobes which is better. They will idle close to each other b/c of the advertised duration, but you should see more power out of the XR than the Crane cam.

I agree that you should call COMP and see what they think would fit your setup.
