Just replaced the fuel pump 4 weeks ago. Checked tank at the time...no rust, no holes. Install went smoothly and I installed a fuel pump access panel while the tank was out.
Now, starting about a week ago, I've got a fuel leak. It drips out the back edge of the rearward heat shield. I can't tell for sure where its' coming from( definitely not the sides or bottom)but I have noticed that it occurs primarily while the system is under pressure.
Is it possible that I have developed a pinhole in the pressure or return lines?
Just looking for opinions before I tear into it.
Thanks!

If you take off the gas cap does it relieve pressure? If you take off the cap and use a flashlight look at the top of the tank if you see run marks on the top it is a seal or a line that is not tight. Turn the key ot run but not start and look for gas. mine was a pin hole leak in the filler neck i used apoxy to fix it. You can use the access in the fended to do most the work.

Should taking off your gas cap always relieve pressure? Are there normal conditions that it wouldn't/shouldn't do that? Do mechanical fuel pumps vs electric make a difference?

You probably caused a crack where the filler neck meets the tank. They are very susceptible to cracking in that spot. In fact mine has a pinhole leak there. There was also a bulletin for it.

I would look at the o-ring and locking ring around the sending unit first. Just a thought!!!!!!!!!!!
