I know the rear won't fit without major fab work done. Vettes have IRS. As for the engine, I think they were rated around 325hp. The trany is the same, except a little better and harder in shifting.

No, they were rated at 245 HP, and that is about all they are.

They were no where near 325hp, they were basically just rated 10-15 hp over the F-bod 350 TPI.

I would swap the 350 in place of your 305, but I'd do a few mods to the 350 before it went in.

Just my .02.. but I heard swapping the six speed tranny that the C4 vettes used is really tough. I don't know what kind of tranny they used before they had a six speed .. a T5? I'd be kind of interested in knowing.

stock 88 vettes were rated at 245hp@4300 Rpms, and 335 Ftpds torque @3200 rpms. Im getting this directly out of the September 1988 issue of Motor Trend, were they did a high speed shootout of several cars, including a vette, an iroc, and a GTA- all with 350 TPIs. The iroc was rated at 235 and 335, and the GTA was rated at 220 and 330.

Well, not certain on the exact rating, but in '87 it was about 255-260hp advertised, because the GN had to be advertised lower, so the GN was advertised to be 245hp when it was really about 295.
Then in 89, the TTA was advertised at 255hp, again because it couldn't have more hp than the 265hp Vett, but the TTA was more like 300hp. I have the HR and C&D mag articles for both.
So the 88 Vette was right in between the 87 and 89 ratings of 255 - 265.

Sorry I was wrong, I was just guessing off the top of my head. I know the Vette eventually came with over 300 horses, must have been in the 90's.

The highest rate L98 Corvette was in 1991 @ 250 HP. In 1992 they were rated @ 300 HP when they switched to the LT-1.

And there was never a 15 HP difference between IROCs and GTAs if BOTH had dual cats. Some sources rate the difference at 5HP and others identical. My 1991 GTA is rated by some sources (my GM shop manual) at 245 and others (some internet sources) at 240. The difference is attributed to the intake only. But I've never seen a 15 HP difference on identically equiped IROCs and GTAs. That's a myth.
