Does anyone know the size? Also under the flange for the fuel pump on the block is a hole about 7/8" in diameter. Does this just stay exposed?

3/8 Coarse for the large bolts, and 1/4 20 for the 2 smaller ones in the block off plate.

Yes, the hole where the fuel pump rod goes through (or used to ) is left alone, the block off plate just covers it, you don't need to do anything to it.

Engineboy do you know how long the bolts are?

 

The holes are 3/4" and 1" deep (for the 1/4 and 3/8 respectively) so I would use some 1/2" long bolts and that will be fine.
