Buy or build?

I am torn between trying to buy another f-body, or just taking the money i would spend on that and just build a killer drivetrain for my current trans am. My car now looks great(pics up soon)but it has all stock driveline, 305 700r4 stock rear also, i have already made the car look good (excluding the junk spoiler) but i just don't know which way to go, build or buy?

Let me know what you think

I want to build either a strong 350 or 383 (depending on price)

Well if you've already put money into making it look good....it'd be a shame to have to start from scratch looks-wise, even with a stock 350 car. I say build.

Personally I find it one hell of alot easier (and cheaper) to build a drive train than a car. But that's just me. I know guys, used to build motors for some, that could take a wreck and turn it into a show car with seemingly no effort at all; I'd build their motors for them, and they'd spiff up my car, and we'd call it about even. I guess it all depends on what you're good at, what tools you have, your facilities, etc.

My family is nothing but gearheads so I have plenty of tools and help
I am going to go talk to a guy that builds motors and just see how much it will cost me

From your experiences what is the price difference and power difference from a built 350 and a 383 stroker?

Id build. What better feeling is there than sitting back listening to the engine purr...thinking: "man, i built that....."

You got that right!!! It's the best when you beat somebody with a jacked-up mouth that didn't build his own, with the work of your own hands.

But thats just me, heh
