Well, I am not even sure where to post this, but here goes. I have the chance to get a free stripped 88 GTA. I am not kidding when I say stripped either, the car was parted out. It is currently missing:
engine
trans
rear suspension
springs/shocks/struts
most of interior
spoiler
digital dash, still have, but dont want (for sale :P )
windshield (cracked to hell)
hatch
engine wiring harness
ecm

However, it does have a few things I have wanted for some time:
T-tops
ground effects
Its a trans am

My 83 firebird is currently in my shop for a complete overhaul. It basically needs everything replaced. I am most likely going to take the GTA, and swap parts from my 83 to the 88. I'm not at all concerned with originality. I have a good daily driver car now, so this will strictly be a weekend/fun car. This means no A/C, etc. Theres actually not a whole lot of major parts I will need to swap, mostly just little stuff. I do want to put the 3.23 posi rear from my 83 in the 88. I also don't want the digital dash (entire dash is already out of car), I would rather have the 86-92 firebird gauges. I already have an 87 GTA 140 speedo cluster.

Basically heres my plan for the car: Roller 350 engine, carbed, non CC, no emissions, T-5 trans, and basic interior. No A/C, basic sound system, cloth interior. Pretty much I want the car just to be fast without a ton of extra crap. I will worry about the paint and stuff later. I'm trying to plan out as much as possible, and find out any problems I might run into along the way. I'm sure people have done this sort of thing before, i'm hoping they can give me some pointers. Year-to-year differences, stuff like that would be helpful. Thanks guys
