Edelbrock 7101 and 1406 hood clearance on Firebird?

I'm looking into installing an Edelbrock 7101 Performer RPM intake manifold and a 1406 600cfm square bore carb on my LG4 305. The only thing that I wonder is if it will clear the hood. I already have a K&N filter element with an unlabeled recessed filter housing, so it's lower than a stock flat air filter. Will I be bumping the hood, will it just clear it? Or should I start looking at the TA/Formula hood that I want to put on my 'Bird now?

I have an 86 TA (same hood basically) and was test fitting that manifold and carb with a drop base aircleaner, it cleared just fine.

Wouldn't the Performer RPM be a little strong for an LG4, or is it just me? Is that better pickup at off idle, or all around the RPM range?
