Camchain
Camchain
Hi, i will try to explain here in english (not my main language that you soon understand)
When i change camchain, i can just put the gears in one way because there is "lines" in them.
So if i put the gears so the marks are exactly to each other does that mean that the engine are in position to get ignition on cylinder 1 ?
So if i have the camchain and gears with marks to each other, i will put down the distrubatour so the rotor is on cylinder ignitioncable 1 ?
Very thankful for answer.... Ron Sweden

If you put the marks pointing to each other (cam gear pointing down, crank up) the dist. will be at #6 firing position. Rotate engine on full revolution & it will be at #1.

Almost but not quite.
With the #1 piston at the top, and the marks together, the engine is at #6 firing. That'ss the best way to assemble the motor, because it's easiest to judge the position of the marks there. But it's not #1 firing.
Rotate the crankshaft exactly one full turn from that point. Both marks will then be at the top. That is #1 firing.
With the engine at the new position, install the distributor so that the rotor points to the contact for the #1 plug wire.

Thank you so much, that explain alot!!!
Then i have the distrubator a half lap wrong.
I think that is little tricky that when the marks are to each other that is NOT get ignition on cylinder 1.
For me that seems most logic.
Thanks you, now i understand why the engine shoots like a tomahawk missile...
