Is a '94 Chevy 350 truck block roller?

A friend of mine bought a complete motor off a '94 chevy pickup. Is this a roller block or just a regular hydraulic? Thanks.

I think the roller cams didn't start until '96 with the vortec heads. My '93 350 truck was not a roller cam.

Yep, it's a roller block. Propably didn't come with a roller cam though. The provisions are there, GM just did not use them.

Hey thanks for the replies dudes. He's gonna fix up this block with all the hardcore parts then put it into his '92 Z-28 with the superram.

This is correct. You might have to drill and tap the holes for the "spider" that holds the lifters down, but the provisions are there to use a roller cam.

That's what I thought too with 91 350 block. I had the holes tapped for the spider, but when I went to put the cam in... it wouldnt go all the way in the block, plus the block doesnt have the provisions for the cam retention plate. That kinda tells me it calls for a regular cam. I'd say get a full roller block that has the provisions already there if you want to use a roller cam.

Or just get the legacy style roller cam and don't worry about the factory's demonic hallucination of a roller system.
