Need Help when Headlights are on I get a power drain
I have a -12volt drain that i cant find if I leave the car parked for a couple of days it will kill the battery. when driving using signals or headlights the voltage gauge starts to drop and if I step on gas it comes right back up its driving me crazy any help or ideas would be great Thanks Timbo
you have one of those wonderfull c-s unit alternators! trust me i know ive re-placed 4 of the pos's! it could just be that your computer has a short in it and it constantly drains the battery! it happended to me untill i removed the computer! sorry.... do you even have a comp controlled car? if not the drain is a mis-ground some where! or its probably just the alternator! those alternatord suck!
disconnect your horn lead! try this first see if that fixes it! if not have the alt. tested at your local parts store! thats the first palce id go theyll check it for free!

Fusable links?..that damn + wire running from the battery to the starter (like 14mil trip) likes to rub against a protective metal plate installed by the dummies at GM. This cost me a $30 dollar accell cap, a new starter motor, alternator, battery and an accel coil cause it was shorting big time!
